Position Objective
The Quality Assurance Analyst II follows applications through the software development life cycle from analysis, design and coding through testing and deployment. Responsible for developing, implementing and enhancing test plans and test scripts for all assigned products. Maintains a high degree of error-free programs, procedures, system and documents on all product releases.
Responsibilities
- Thorough and accurate testing of client/server and web-based applications
- Verifying that product features satisfy specified business requirements.
- Development and execution of test plans
- Attending and participating in design meetings
- Reporting of testing results and prioritizing issues detected
- Reviewing documentation for accuracy/quality
- Assist in preparation and fulfillment process for software releases
- Interaction with developers for quality assessment
- Interaction with support staff for technical support in troubleshooting client problems.
- Serve as a mentor for QA Analyst I team members, providing assistance and aiding in training when needed
Qualifications
- BS in a software technology related field or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of experience in the QA industry
- Strong understanding of relational databases, preferably SQL Server
- Familiarity with multiple OS and network environments, Windows preferred
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle and the role that quality assurance plays within it
- Able to be flexible with shifting priorities, workloads and work under deadline constraints
- Critical thinking/strong analytical skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to contribute to and provide suggestions for software quality process improvement
