Implementation Project Manager
Location Phoenix, AZ Position Description The Implementation Project Manager successfully manages the implementation of new or existing Tyler Technologies/MUNIS accounts from the contract signing through the formal transition to the Transitional Services and Support teams on time and within budget. Responsibilities - Work with the Sales team as the contract is signed, becoming familiar with contract requirements, program modifications, and other site-specific background information.
- Oversee the development, education, and scheduling of the implementation consultants assigned to your team.
- Conduct kick-off meetings with clients and sales representatives to officially start projects and develop the project plan. Implementation project plans outline the scope, schedule, and budget of the project, as well as each party’s responsibilities and mutual commitment to contribute adequate resources to follow the plan.
- Conduct planning sessions with the client’s key functional leaders to create a series of documented management plans that detail the client project’s scope, changes, communications, quality, risk, schedule, resources, and education plans.
- Utilize all project tools and resources to effectively manage the client project.
- Use the Client SharePoint site as the main depository of documentation that supports each new client’s implementation project.
- Publish a summary of key dates and issues to all Tyler employees involved in the project, such as development, implementation, support, and other project managers through the use of the Client SharePoint site.
- Schedule resources, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress to ensure compliance with the project plan, immediately notifying affected parties of any schedule changes.
- Obtain regular feedback from clients regarding project status and quality of service and take immediate corrective action as required.
- Communicate completion of milestones to clients and update major steps in the project plan, status report, and internal implementation survey through the completion of the project.
- Conduct transition meetings with the Transitional Services and Support teams and clients to ensure a smooth transition from the implementation team.
- Manage the implementation team in such a way as to deliver expected revenue goals and work across regions and departments to maximize performance.
- Communicate with the regional implementation manager on a frequent and regular basis, delivering schedules and revenue projections on time; relaying personnel, client, contract, and departmental issues in a timely manner; seeking assistance, as needed, with meeting revenue goals; and responding to directives that are issued as part of meeting department goals.
- Maintain the team’s SharePoint calendar by keeping all information current, including booking information as scheduled or changed, vacations, or days held for projected events.
- Secure formal acceptance for designated milestones and communicate their acceptance as applicable, especially when related to billing and accounting functions.
- Work towards becoming PMP certified and upon certification, maintain status by adhering to the ‘60 PDU’s within a three year cycle’ rule.
Qualifications - BS in Computer Science, Accounting, or related field, or comparable equivalent work experience.
- Three to five years of software experience.
- Two years of experience with MUNIS or other Tyler products, or similar product.
- High level of organization and the ability to prioritize internal and external projects.
- Provide encouragement and positively influence client commitment in project implementation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as good listening skills.
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and persuasion skills in dealing with client personnel.
- Ability to travel is required.
